The action in Los Angeles and Long Beach was supported by many local disability groups, as well as some national ones. The march, the confrontation at the Bonaventure Hotel (where APTA was holding their convention), in Congressional and Transit District offices were all noteworthy. Also noteworthy, the men who were arrested spent time in the LA County jail, some injured so they never fully recovered, some caught in a social workers strike that cause a paperwork stoppage and took a middle of the night vigil to bust them out.
