[text begins] Both political parties agreed to develop position papers on the issue of what ADAPT calls "institutional bias in long term care" and to allow members of ADAPT to address platform committees, and possibly party delegates, at upcoming presidential conventions.

By the end of this month, ADAPT representatives also plan to meet with HHS Secretary Donna Shalala to urge a study of how to fix the "institutional bias," says Stephanie Thomas, a national organizer for ADAPT.
