The purpose of this organization is to promote equal access to employment, to programs and services on behalf of persons with disabilities and to advocate for the inclusion of all citizens with disabilities into the mainstream of life. The National Association of Governors’ Committees conducts the annual Media Advertising Award, presented to the outstanding television advertisement that effectively includes persons with disabilities. The National Association of Governors' Committees conducts an Annual Training conference in conjunction with the President's Committee's Annual Meeting.

The State Relations Committee is chaired by Francine Lee, Executive Director of the Commission on Persons with Disabilities for the state of Hawaii and staffed by Faith Kirk, an employment advisor for the President's Committee.
