This is the story, as told in a video Incitement, of ADAPT's national action in Atlanta in 1996. We were fighting for community based services so people don't have to go into nursing homes and other institutions. We were able to get Speaker Newt Gingrich to agree to sponsor our bill, and to get both parties very aware of our issue on the eve of the national election. We challenged the GA Nursing Home Assn and the AHCA (the nursing home lobby group) and pulled off some spectacular actions.
