These articles cover one of the first national campaigns, to make McDonald's accessible. This was so early that the group, a forerunner -- and for a time a parallel group to ADAPT, is often referred to as the Access Institute, ACCESS, or the Atlantis Community. The Access Institute was created to train disability activists from across the nation in a direct action style of advocacy. Atlantis Community was the homeland and mother of the the Access Institute and ADAPT, American Disabled for Accessible Public Transit.
