This action was focused on the Alabama v. Garrett Supreme Court Case which involved a state employee's right to sue the state under the ADA. More generally however, it was an attack to weaken the civil rights guaranteed under the ADA and it galvanized the disability community across the US. ADAPT started with a bus tour that started in Birmingham and held a rally each day in Atlanta, Nashville, Louisville, Columbus, Pittsburg, Harrisburg, Philadelphia and Baltimore calling for disability rights and stop any weakening of the ADA. The touring ADAPT folks were met in DC by the rest of ADAPT and people from many other organizations for a final massive rally in Washington DC on October 2nd. In addition to the tour and rally, ADAPT held protests at the White House, the Republican National Headquarters and AARP Headquarters.
